Greetings and Blessings to you! On behalf of myself and Fr. Don, and all the parishioners and students of Saint Luke University Parish - Welcome! On August 1 of 2007 we began our ministry to the Allendale and GVSU community. It is not that we are just a new parish, we are a parish starting from scratch, and that's exciting news. We are building a Church first (the people), and with the help of generous people, we hope to soon begin the constructing of a home to house our celebrations and ministries.

Saint Luke University Parish is a pastoral partnership of the Diocese of Grand Rapids and the Paulist Fathers. Paulist's have ministered in the diocese at the Catholic Information Center for 60 years, but St. Luke is a new venture. It is a response to the Catholic needs of the Catholics at Grand Valley State University, and the growing population in Allendale Charter Township.

This new parish is a hybrid - both campus ministry and parish ministry - we will seek to be a missionary community working to promote the gospel by our celebrations and outreach. We seek to be a good neighbor and hospitable to all who come our way. We will be true to our Catholic roots, and guided by the Holy Spirit, faithful to articulating Church tradition and understanding in contemporary impact in exciting ways. We expect the resident community to support and be challenged by the student community, just as we expect the student community to invigorate our ministries, and share their faith as the enter their working world.
